Day 03 |
Kathmandu to Pokhara:
Fly or drive to Pokhara. |
Day 04 |
Pokhara to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni:
From Jomsom the trek commences with a 3 hr walk along the bank of Kaligandaki to Ekley-Bhatti village. Trek one hour more to reach Kagbeni, which lies at the junction of two rivers. |
Day 05 |
Kagbeni to Muktinath: (3817 m):
Muktinath is an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists with a Gompa and pagoda style. The pagoda is dedicated to Lord Bishnu. The most interesting and important feature of this location however is the pool where burning natural gas is said to represent the eternal flame. |
Day 06 |
Muktinath to Marpha: (2709 m):
The trail descends to the Kaligandaki valley again at 2665m and reaches the village of Marpha. This village is huddled behind a ridge which protects it from the wind and dust. |
Day 07 |
Marpha to Ghasa: (1970 m):
Dramatic changes of vegetation from dry arid desert to pine and conifer forests can be observed while traversing between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna regions. Passing through Kalapani magnificent views of the Annapurna range can be seen. |
Day 08 |
Ghasa to Tatopani: ( 1189 m):
Descending gradually to Tatopani trekkers enter a region of valleys and fields. The beautiful Rupse Chhahara waterfall is passed before reaching Dana village for lunch. |
Day 09 |
Tatopani to Sikha:
Descending all day to Sikha the trail passes through thick forest of rhododendron. The best view of the sunset over Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna can be seen from here. |
Day 10 |
Sikha to Ghorepani:
The trail descends to Ghorepani. Rest day at Ghorepani. |
Day 11 |
Ghorepani to Tadapani via Poonhill:
The guide will wake you up early for a 2 hour walk up to Tadapani via Poonhill where one may witness the sunrise for a lifetime memory. Over 30 snow-capped peaks, the whole Annapurna range, can be seen from this viewpoint. |
Day 12 |
Tadapani to Ghandruk:
This area is one of the finest & most famous trekking areas of Nepal. The Annapurna ranges and Machhapuchre (Fishtail) dominate the mountain views with glimpses farther east of Lamjung Himal and the Manaslu range. The trail descends through huge boulders into the maze of trails around Ghandruk (1940m.) |
Day 13 |
Ghandruk to Pokhara via Birethanti: (1040m.):
Descend to Pokhara via Birethanti. On the way you can see mules loaded with goods in transit. Walking distance is 5 hrs. Walk up to Nayapool (New-bridge) and drive to Pokhara for one hours. |
